S. Parker exclusive Big Guy locks are the best and strongest lock for
rolldown doors, hinged doors, and sliding gates and doors. All parts are
designed and built of massive and tough cast iron metals for extra resistance
to picking, hammering and cutting.
The extra thick solid brass housing material and the superb cylinder make
this group of locks perfect for closures that demand special physical
security. There are over five pounds of iron and brass in each Big Guy.
Big Guy locks can be used alone, or mated with existing devices. The lock
body is malleable iron to resist sledging. The cylinder is solid brass
and the body construction is two piece for extra resistance to picking.
The two part cylinder rotates freely, so cannot be sawed or filed. Pin
tumblers make picking very difficult. Heavy enameling resists rust of
the thick, hardened metals.
For hinged doors, the 942 lock body is bolted to the door jamb, with the smaller depression facing up. The bolt plate is bolted to the edge of the door, and aligned so the hasp fits into the lock-body when the door is closed.
For sliding gates and doors, the 943 lock body is bolted to the gate post or gate bar so the smaller depression is on top, and the slot is facing the sliding door or gate. Two flat bars are bolted to the leading edge of the sliding gate (one on each side of the first vertical bar of the gate) so that hasp bolt bolts through the center holes of bars and aligns with the slot in the lock body.
